SCARCELLO: A familiar endorsement

| May 12, 2017 1:00 AM

As a common sense candidate, Laurin Scarcello is committed to serving the Lakes Highway District as commissioner.

I know because I’m his daughter.

My dad has plenty to offer. Overall, Lakes Highway District does a good job and he believes he can contribute to that. Good roads and good equipment are part of the equation but the people factor needs to be considered. Employees are a huge part of the equation and ultimately, roads serve people. In reality, he says, this is your district. On Tuesday you’ll have a choice for a candidate serving Sub-District One and my father would welcome the opportunity to serve you.

He’s civic minded and passionate about his community. He has served and continues to serve on a number of boards in several capacities. He’s had to make tough choices that he felt were in the best interest of the district in which he served. “I understand that at times it isn’t a popularity contest,” he once told me.

Previous roles have been good training for him as a commissioner. Information comes from several directions and commissioners have to value that information for what it’s worth and form a decision that’s best for the district overall.

As your commissioner, my dad will be receptive to all comments and concerns of district constituents. He can be reached at (208) 661-6090.
