Ask your audiologist… May is the month of better hearing and speech!

| May 10, 2017 1:00 AM

If you are over 60 it is recommended to obtain a baseline for your health records.

A person with hearing loss may exhibit some or all of the following: increased stress, frustration, low self-esteem and self-worth, depression, paranoia, avoidance of social gatherings and withdrawal from life. These problems occur because communication with family and friends becomes difficult. Don’t let these problems happen to you or your loved ones. If friends and family have to repeat themselves over and over it becomes annoying for them to talk with you. If one thinks he is not hearing well, they should have their hearing screened during the month of May (better hearing and speech month). The solution may be as simple as wax in the ear. How will you know unless you have your hearing screened? Most people get their eye and dental exams once a year but they will wait decades without a simple hearing test. Don’t put it off. Your hearing is very important. If your evaluation shows that you could be helped with hearing aids above are some reasons why you should get help.

Benefits from hearing aids include: reduction of stress, improvement of self-concept, confidence, improvement of social life, improvement of mental function, reduce hearing related paranoia and depression, overall quality of life will be greatly improved.

May is a great month to have your hearing screened!
