CAMERON: A fine journalist

Steve Cameron’s addition to the writing staff at The Press is most welcome. I enjoy his writing style immensely! I’ve had the opportunity to be interviewed by Steve a couple of times now and while he may not get every quote exactly as I said them, he comes mighty close and gets the essence.

I have had the opportunity to attend some of the same public meetings as Steve and have agreed with his reporting of the facts and the fairness of his writing. I’m not a sports fan, but do make it a point to read his columns in the sports section just so I can enjoy his thoughts.

I’ve been the master of ceremonies at a couple of events Steve has reported on and, given the crowd’s political leanings, have joked about Steve’s being “the media so beware” and “his Left-leaning proclivities.” I’m here to let folks know that Steve is actually a “registered Independent” and does report the news fairly and accurately. I’m sure Steve and I will be in the same situations in the future but he can rest assured I won’t, even in jest, paint him with that brush in the future. I know he’s a good guy (and a pal) but others in the audience may not know that.
