Their dancing shoes were still warm from the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade when the Blazen Divaz received another request to perform for their country.

"We got this invitation right when we got back," Blazen Divaz producer and director John Parmann said Thursday.

The lively entertainment group will be making its debut appearance in the National Cherry Blossom Festival Parade in Washington, D.C., on April 8. The Divaz will perform in the parade, then move to a special revue stage where they'll continue their routine for all to see.

"This was very unexpected and quite an honor for all of us, and a great opportunity to once again be ambassadors for our city and state," Parmann said.

The Divaz will perform their big-band "In the Mood" routine from the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade, complete with old-fashioned dresses, large hats, white gloves and pearls.

Before all that fun starts, they'll appear on ABC's "Good Morning America" around 7:30 that morning. The Divaz are one of only four parade groups that were hand-picked to appear on the show.

"The theme and the mood is really what we want to portray as representatives of Idaho," Parmann said. "We have a bright future, we're optimistic about the future and we want to play to that."

The Divaz is a group of active, young-spirited women ranging in age from 23-88. They have performed in many North American parades and brought smiles to many faces with the LED lighting they don for evening performances.

"We are looking forward to bringing our brand of sophistication and glamour to Washington, D.C.," Parmann said. "The Blazen Divaz will leave no doubt that Idaho is about more than just potatoes. We are the Gem State."
