BUSINESS: Fare thee well

| March 29, 2017 1:00 AM

The Sports Cellar closed its doors for good on March 25. The end of an era for an iconic family owned business.

The Sports Cellar will take its place alongside Archie McGregor’s Lake Side Store and Cabins, Playland Pier, Templins, the Brunswick Cafe, the Wilma theatre, the Desert Hotel, the A.R.T., Harvey’s, Myklebust’s, Lighthouse Sporting Goods, Evergreen Florist, Woolworths, Penny’s, The Sherman Arms, Shred Shed, Wilson’s Pharmacy, Hart’s Pharmacy, The Pines Bakery, Powells Shoe Store, Club Cigar, Mac’s Natural Foods, Fore and Aft, Everson’s Jewelry, the 76 Gas Station, Dingles.

I cannot for the life of me remember the name of the bar directly across the street from the Wilma.

The Sports Cellar will be missed. Happy retirement, Greg.
