A big slap in the face
Well, since I’m stuck indoors thanks to El Niño (thank you, global warming), I guess I will try to keep up with all of the news on our new groper-in-chief.
There have been a lot of great My Turns and Letters to the Editor lately by people like Steve Cedros, Ed Jadorka, Gary Edwards and Reid Harlocker. Gary Edwards talks about impeachment. With a Republican Congress I’m not sure about that but, one way or another, I don’t think Trump will last two years, let alone four.
Mike Patrick, you libitard, keep up the good work. I am glad you fact checked and cleared up that “Obuma” (misspelling noted) salute question. Maybe you can also clarify the difference between a protest and a riot to those individuals who don’t seem to know the difference.
Well, you Republicans, are you tired of winning yet? Or more likely, tired of losing? Trump should have had his tie factory in China make up some new ball caps with LOSER printed on the front of them. Of course, he will have to pay a 35 percent tariff when he imports them to the U.S. to give away in his next adoration rally.
Trump has been losing from day one. The botched Yemen raid which he ordered over dinner, where one of our own, plus civilians (including an 8-year-old child) were killed and their target was nowhere to be found, in addition to the loss of a $76 million dollar aircraft. Both Muslim bans lost 5-0 thanks to Washington and Hawaii. His campaign and transition team riddled with liars (imitating their boss). The Flynn lies about Russia, plus his lobbying for Turkey (LOCK HIM UP) that paid over half a million dollars, gone. Sessions' perjury which forced him to recuse himself from any investigation into Russian interference in the election and influence with any campaign or transition members. Pence, while governor, had his private server with government information on it hacked.
Now the big ones. It looks like Trumpcare (also known as a big tax break for the rich at the expense of the poor), but more importantly eliminates/defunds Medicare expansion and Planned Parenthood (which helps women with much, much more than non-government funded abortions) will be D.O.A. if or when it gets to the Senate. Hooray! The Trump budget, which increases spending for the military, but will eliminate Meals on Wheels, free lunches in schools, etc. for those who need our help the most, has gone to the joyful Republican Congress. So much for the great negotiator and deal-maker, whose promises included health care for all and a return of the working-class people.
As for the media, Trump and his supporters hate them because they fact check and call him out on all of his lies (all media, that is, except for Brietbart and Fox News, or the right-wing internet) which is pretty much everything he says. So far, everything the media has printed has been true. So if you Trumpeters don’t like the facts, then subscribe to Bannon’s Brietbart newspaper. I am sure you will enjoy all of the “fake news” and "alternative facts" they have to offer. Trump says “the media is the enemy of the people.” No, no, Donny, you and your cronies, including Putin, are the enemies of the American people.
I’ll tell you what is a slap to the face of the military and veterans; it is Trump’s remarks about not winning wars anymore. If the military is so depleted, then let’s bring back the draft, only make it so cowards like Donny boy can’t buy their way out of it or have a medical doctor say something is really wrong with you when it’s not. I guess when your boy is losing so much then you have to bring up stupid things like saluting and putting feet on your desk. How minor compared to important things like falsely accusing a former president of “wire tapping” and turning our government over to Russia and their hackers.
As far as spreading around some love for Trump, it’s really hard to spread love when you don’t respect someone. I do not respect liars, racists, bigots and sexual predators. Oh, and the next time you use your microwave, remember to smile because you may be on Candid Camera.
