Betty L. Chandler, 87

Betty Chandler passed away March 14, 2017.

She is survived by her husband, Ward Chandler of Silverton, Idaho; her grandson, David and wife, Jennifer Chandler of Yakima, Wash.; sister Joyce (Rod) Liechte of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her son, Dan Chandler (March 5, 2017); sister Dolores Harrison (April 19, 2002); and her parents.

Betty was born on March 17, 1929, in Scobey, Mont., to Everett and Minda (Paulson) Discher. While she would often say she was “just” a housewife, to everyone who knew her she was so much more. Betty adored her grandson, fussed over her husband, and both cared and worried about everyone she knew. A longtime member of the Arts & Craft Club and the Kellogg Dance Club, Betty enjoyed crocheting, baking and spending time with her dear friends. She was beloved and will be sorely missed.

If so desired, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, D.C. 20090 or www.alz.org in Betty’s name.

A memorial service is 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. Please visit Betty’s online memorial and sign her guest book at www.yatesfuneralhomes.com.
