EDITORIAL: Speak up, Idaho

How disappointing that there is not one single comment following the brilliant editorial, “War of the Words Reaches New Depths.”

Although I have learned through my column here that Coeur d’Alene has more than its share of right wing fanatics, I have also admired their passion. What an amazing country we live in. Sure, the news can be slanted. If you ever watched Fox news you know it can be ridiculous. They are many things but never the enemy. Not in a country that adores freedom as we do.

When people ask me if I am a liberal or conservative, I have to ask them what topic we’re discussing. As Americans, are we not individuals? I am a staunch conservative on capital punishment, welfare handouts, but a liberal when it comes to abortion, etc. Come on, Coeur d’Alene. This editorial deserved your passionate feedback. The writer deserved a minute of your time. We can do better.

Finally, America is great. We have always been great. We don’t need anyone telling us we can be great again. We are great!
