SCHOOLS: Support our future

| March 10, 2017 12:00 AM

As an Idaho native, I’m proud to live in our beautiful community. I chose to raise my family here because of what our city has to offer. The most fundamental value in Coeur d’Alene is our public schools. We have strong, well maintained schools, which show our residents value the assets of our school district. The outside appearance and safety of our schools is important, but what happens inside is vital to our community and children’s success.

I encourage you to visit our schools and spend some time during the class day. You will see safe, vibrant and thought-provoking learning environments. Our schools are filled with students with varying needs (high, proficient and low) which require resources to help them grow and find success. Our schools have innovative technology for teachers and students to use for engaging lessons. Most of all, we have superb educators with our children’s best interests at heart. We all want our SD 271 students to learn and thrive and become productive members of our community. The upcoming school levy amounts to more than 20 percent of the district’s budget for learning related items in our schools. Please join me in continuing to invest in our future without raising our tax rate. Please also vote yes for the school bond which will continue to insure safe and structural sound schools. Please also visit www.cdaschools.org.

On Tuesday, March 14 vote Yes and Yes for our kids, teachers, schools and community.
