COEUR d’ALENE — Local photographer Linda Lantzy has been selected as the 2017 artist-in-residence for the Idaho Conservation League.

The Conservation League is a statewide advocacy group working to protect Idaho’s air, water and public lands.

“I have photographed some of the most wild and beautiful landscapes Idaho has to offer. Nothing speaks to Idaho preservation more intimately than having been there to see and capture the majesty that is Idaho,” said Lantzy, of Coeur d’Alene, in a news release. “Because I am so immersed in the Gem State, protecting that majesty for future generations is of utmost importance to me.”

Lantzy, a professional landscape photographer,

was the 2015 artist- in-residence for Idaho’s state parks.

Her images are widely used as fine art, and in books, magazines and websites.

This year, Lantzy will focus her work for the Conservation League on Idaho’s public lands. The league has asked Lantzy to curate a Facebook group page that celebrates Idaho’s public lands through photography. The group, which will run all year, is called “Gems of Idaho — Our Public Lands” and is open to everyone.

Lantzy is the Idaho Conservation League’s fourth artist-in-residence. Each fall, the nonprofit solicits interest from Idaho artists, selecting an artist-in-residence based on the applicant’s images and the way they complement the Conservation League’s work.
