From left are Jesse Christensen, Jim Kinnard, Payton Barber, Capriel Halliday. The Wolves lost their first game Saturday and came back to win the next seven games to win their bracket. Payton and Capriel will be seniors at Lake City High and Jim will be a junior in the fall. Jesse graduated from LCHS in 2014. Jesse and Jim both are active Special Olympics athletes on the local Cd'A Eagles team. Jesse's basketball team won gold at the state Special Olympics on June 10 in Twin Falls. Jim ran track and won golds in the 1,500-meter (with a personal best of 5:50) and 800-meter events. Jesse and Jim were Hoopfest champs last year but with different unified players. When they found out their players from last year wouldn't able to play this year Jim started asking around Lake City HS. Both Capi and Peyton played on the varsity basketball team this year and are active members of student council and varsity soccer players. Jim knew they would be perfect for his unified team.
