PLUMMER — James Twoteeth, a member of Lakeside’s 1997 state A-4 championship boys basketball team, has been named head coach of the Knights’ boys basketball program.

Twoteeth, 37, replaces Bob Wolcott, who coached the Lakeside boys for one season.

Twoteeth was Lakeside’s junior varsity coach last season. Before that, he coached six seasons at Lakeside Middle School. Prior to that, he coached youth teams in grades 1-6 for three years.

“I’ve been coaching for the past 10 years, so been coaching most of the kids already that are in the program,” Twoteeth said. “I’m just interested in being involved with getting Lakeside back on top like 20 years ago when I played.”

In 1996, the year prior to winning the state title, he played on a Lakeside team that finished second at state.

Twoteeth is IT manager for the Coeur d’Alene Tribe.

“I’m just anxious to help these kids show what they can do,” he said. “There is a lot of talent here; we just have to get them on the court and buy into a system that they believe in. I’m very excited for Lakeside basketball going forward.”
