HANDELMAN: A real leader

“Work Hard, Be Nice” words I will continue to live by as I wrap up my 7th year with the Coeur d’Alene School District. This is a motto that Matthew Handelman has shared with the school district staff for several years at the start of the school year. I have enjoyed Matt’s leadership throughout my time in this district. He lives by this motto and was always available to his staff. I have worked for five school districts in three states during my 20+ year career as a special education teacher. Matt Handelman has been the only superintendent to come into my classroom, get to know my students and take a personal interest in the lives of his staff and students. I have strong admiration for him as a true servant leader who always worked hard and was nice to work with. I wish Matt only the best as he begins his new position in Washington. I encourage the Coeur d’Alene School District to continue to Work Hard, Be Nice and have a great summer.
