VETERANS: A war on bills

| June 11, 2017 1:00 AM

In America, most veterans who come back home, while fighting for our rights and freedom, are not able to catch up with payments for their own household, and are kicked into the streets. Is this how we treat our veterans? Is this how we should treat them, when they just risked their lives, fighting for the rights and freedom of every American citizen?

No. The American government needs to figure out a way to give our veterans a place to call home, and to give them the respect they deserve. Not just to say to them, “Thank you for serving our country.” We should instead say, “Here is a house, food, water, and some money to pay those payments, and also thank you for serving our country. God bless you.”

It has been going on for too long. These brave men and women deserve better. They almost died to protect America. And what do they get in return? No car, no house and no mercy. Nothing. Banks want payments from them, and they can’t pay at least one of them. Let’s at least give them some time to round some money up, and then they can pay.

This issue has been going on for many years. Something needs to happen, and it needs to happen now. Thank you for your time while reading this.
