Thoreson joins CST as executive director
Kerri Thoreson has been named executive director of Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre, announced CST board president Scott Shellman.
Thoreson replaces Tracey Vaughn, who is returning to education to continue her path in that field.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have Kerri leading Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre into the future. Tracey has done an outstanding job over the past two seasons, leading the company in a positive trajectory as Kerri takes over,” said Shellman. “With Kerri’s business knowledge, vast network throughout the region, marketing prowess and incredible work ethic, I’m really excited for the future of Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre.”
Thoreson has a depth of experience with nonprofit organizational management, most recently as the interim director of the Jacklin Arts and Culture Center. In addition to serving as a Post Falls City Councilor, she’s president of the North Idaho Housing Coalition and serves on the advisory board of the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center.
A writer and columnist, Thoreson is a former publisher with the Hagadone Communications Division and a prolific community volunteer.
“What an exciting time to come onboard this flagship theatre company in our community,” said Thoreson, referring to the 50th anniversary of Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre. “I was a Coeur d’Alene High School student when the company was founded in 1967 and know that many talented people have had a hand in its evolution through the decades,” she said. “I’m thrilled to work with an exceptional group of artists, board members, staff and patrons.”
Coeur d’Alene Summer Theatre is the oldest performing arts organization in Idaho.
