Coeur d’Alene 18, West Valley 6: Austin DeBoer hit a grand slam, one of five home runs hit by Coeur d’Alene in the deciding game in the best-of-3 series for the state title Sunday. Cooper Smith hit a three-run homer and a solo shot, and Jake Dannenberg and Cooper Erikson each hit two-run homers for Cd’A, which bounced back from a Game 2 loss on Saturday. Braeden Newby struck out 10 in four innings in the win.
AGE 8-10
Southwest Ada 6, Coeur d’Alene 5: Tate Kubena struck out eight and Cam Olson doubled as Southwest Ada responded from a loss in Game 1 to win the final two games of the best-of-3 series for the state title.
Travis Usdrowski went 4 for 4 for Coeur d’Alene, Tyler Voorhees was 3 for 3 and Lars Bazler had two hits.
