Aparicio hits grand slam, leads Spokane over Everett
EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — Miguel Aparicio hit a grand slam in the ninth inning, leading the Spokane Indians to a 6-5 win over the Everett AquaSox in Northwest League baseball on Sunday before 3,499 at Everett Memorial Stadium.
Argenis Rodriguez got David Banuelos to fly out with runners on first and second to end the game for his first save of the season.
The grand slam by Aparicio scored Matt Whatley, Kole Enright, and Kobie Taylor to give the Indians a 6-3 lead.
In the bottom of the ninth, Everett scored on a sacrifice fly by Eugene Helder that brought home Ronald Rosario. In the following at-bat, Johnny Adams hit an RBI double, scoring Chris Torres to cut the Spokane lead to 6-5.
Alex Eubanks got the win in relief for Spokane, (6-1, second half), which play at Eugene on Thursday.
