BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS

At Croffoot Park, Hayden

AGE 9-11

West Valley 11, Coeur d’Alene 6: Cam Downie homered, and Brady Barowsky, Wheaten Ennes and Cole Casagrande each drove in runs as West Valley squared the best-of-3 series for the state title at one win apiece.

Austin DeBoer and Caden Symons each had RBI doubles for Coeur d’Alene.

Game 3 is today at 10 a.m. at Croffoot Park.

Southwest Ada 15, Coeur d’Alene 13: Hudson Fizer, Tate Kubena, Cam Olsen, Carson McCarney and Ian Novosel all had RBIs as Southwest Ada evened the best-of-3 series for the state title at one win apiece.

Tyler Voorhees had a two-run home run for Coeur d’Alene, and Travis Usdrowski, Casen Miller, Tanner Franklin and Owen Mangini all had RBIs.

Game 3 is today at 10 a.m. at Croffoot Park.

MAJORS

Lewiston 11, Southwest Ada 9: Lewiston connected on four home runs — all in one inning — and totaled 15 hits in sweeping the best-of-3 series for the state title 2 games to 0 to advance to the Northwest Regional Aug. 6-12 in San Bernardino, Calif.

Kaden Daniel went 4 for 5 with a home run, Carson Kolb went 3 for 3 with a home run, and Wyatt Lopez and Brice Bensching each homered.

Tyson Grow had an RBI double and Tanner Knoll had an RBI single for Southwest Ada, which totaled 10 hits.
