Opera returns to the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center in Post Falls Monday, Aug. 7 for the third annual Opera on a Summer’s Eve fundraiser produced by Marlo Faulkner of Coeur d’Alene.

Featuring mostly Italian opera, audiences will be treated to traditional songs and Broadway show tunes as well.

“The JACC is a jewel in our Inland Northwest community,” said Faulkner. “It is intimate in size. It has bright acoustics and open sight lines. With Michael McGivney’s professional audio and lighting, it is perfect for audiences to experience performances up close and personal.”

Faulkner has enticed world class musicians for the Monday night concert. Sopranos Dawn Wolski, Heather Parker, and Christina Kowalski will be joined by Coeur d’Alene tenor, Brandon Michael and Spokane’s international bass baritone, Derrick Parker.

“I like to add the unexpected to vocal concerts,” says Faulkner. “Mateusz Wolski, concertmaster of the Spokane Symphony, will perform on the violin with the singers as well as offer solo surprises.” Accompanying the performers on piano is former artistic director and conductor of the Coeur d’Alene Symphony, David Demand.

Tickets are $45 for adults and $30 for seniors, active military and students with ID. Tickets are available online at www.TheJacklinCenter.org and at the door. The JACC is located at 405 N. William St. in Post Falls, and there is ample free parking. Refreshments will be available in the lobby before the concert and at intermission.

“All proceeds for this event benefit the JACC,” Faulkner states. “Our community has been most generous in covering all expenses.”
