Janice “Joni” Louise Lindsay (Shreve) passed away peacefully on July 16, 2017. Janice was born on Oct. 11, 1953, to Francis and Lula Shreve in Kellogg, Idaho.
Joni attended grade school in Wardner and junior high in Kellogg. In 1968, the family moved to Coeur d’Alene where she graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School. She then attended North Idaho Junior College. She met the love of her life, Rodney Lindsay, while doing Coeur d’Alene teens favorite pass time, cruising down Sherman Avenue. They made the Coeur d’Alene area their lifetime home, living in Coeur d’Alene, Hayden and Hauser areas.
Joni worked as a waitress at Merrells Café on Sherman Avenue, Jones Oil at several of the quick stops, Tapley Cabinet Works, Mr. Steak restaurant, AID (Advanced Input Devices) and then found a home at Monaco Enterprises — a government contractor where she became their master planner. She has worked there for more than 30 years. At the same time Joni, Rod and Jennifer stared a business called JJ & Company, they have made jewelry of all types, which they sold at craft fairs and online.
Joni influenced many people with her infectious smile, her contagious laugh and her special way of making people feel comfortable. She was always there when someone needed a shoulder to cry on or just someone to talk to.
