LABOR: A liberal dilemma

The Editorial on July 21 was excellent and thought provoking. It makes me wonder why we have this labor shortage and relatively high unemployment. Could it be because the liberals have increased unemployment benefits, welfare in general and have been relatively lax in enforcing drug laws to the point that many would rather live on the dole than work? Unemployment benefit costs should have gone down with so many employment opportunities available but I wonder if they have? I do not mind helping those actually in need for good and sufficient reasons, but I object to helping deadbeats. How many receiving these generous benefits are truly in need due to circumstance beyond their control?
