Roger Dale Morris, 74

March 2, 1943 – July 15, 2017

Born in Frederick, Okla., to his mother, Myrtle Ray Ainsworth and father John Jones. He later was raised by his mother and loving stepfather, Highland Morris. He was the youngest of five children, Richard Jones, Ben Jones, Bobby Jones, Helen Silvey and Robert Bowman (cousin, but like a brother).

Roger adored his wife, Joanie, married 51 years.

He had three beautiful daughters, Camile Thompson, Dawn Reagan and Sandra VanAlstine. They gave him 15 wonderful grandchildren, Alexis Brown, Michael Shawn Thompson, Triston Thompson, Elijah Thompson, Mercedes Thompson, Pastor Jeff Cope, Haley John, Luke Reagan, Rachael Malloy, James VanAlstine, Madison VanAlstine, Grant (“Sidekick”) VanAlstine, Ross VanAlstine, Jessica VanAlstine and Elizabeth VanAlstine. His great-grandchildren are Judah Cope, Jordan Cope, Oliver John and Nebraska John.

Roger’s first love was God. He attended “The Cause” church where his oldest grandson is a pastor. His 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren were the joy of his life.

With his loved ones surrounding him, Roger was gloriously and peacefully brought before the Lord, a miracle his entire family could witness.

A celebration of life will be held in Roger’s honor at noon Saturday, July 29, 2017, at The Altar Church, 901 E. Best Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. Please visit Roger’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
