Bonnie L. Damiano, 75

Bonnie L. Damiano passed away peacefully at home in Seattle, Wash., on July 9, 2017, after a six-month struggle with CJD, a rare disease in a unique person. She passed with members of her loving family at her side.

It is with deep gratitude the family would like to thank Providence Hospice Care for the professional, loving and dignified care provided to this wonderful woman.

Bonnie was born in Harrison, Idaho, on March 4, 1942, the daughter of Marjorie and Robert Damiano. She is survived by her children, Suzette Lange, Kara Leonard and Dana Leonard; numerous grandchildren and her husband of 24 years, Michael E. Walsh.

Bonnie spoke fondly of growing up with her brothers and sisters in Harrison, and memories of the family farm and small town that were the center of her idyllic life.

Her early professional career included teaching grade school in the local community, and then a move to Los Angeles where she worked for Raisbeck Company. She later moved to Seattle to work for CNA, where she received employee of the year and was honored at a ceremony in Chicago. Bonnie retired from Physicians Insurance in September 2016 after 20 years of service, having never taken a sick day, a testament to her service, integrity and dedication throughout her career.

Bonnie’s personal life was filled with travel and loving family, many dear friends and a husband who felt that every night was “date night.” Bonnie was a shining example of an enthusiastic, friendly, confident, beautiful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and businesswoman. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, and we thank her for all the gifts she shared throughout her life. We hold you in our hearts forever.

Bonnie will be laid to rest in Harrison by her family in a private ceremony.
