Martha Joan Smith Farley, 82
July 24, 1934 – July 18, 2017
Martha passed peacefully at home while asleep Tuesday morning, July 18, 2017. She joins her husband of 58 years, Harvey Arthur Farley of Utica, Ohio. Until death did they part. Martha was born and raised in Greenville, S.C., where she was lovingly called “JoAnn.”
On Jan. 28, 1957, she married Air Force Airman Harvey A. Harvey and thus started their journey across this country, finally retiring in Athol, Idaho.
She is survived by her sons, Harvey R. Richard “Sparky” and Gary E. (Tara) Farley, all of Athol; daughter Wanda (Ken) Gillespie of Rathdrum; sisters Janie Hudson and Mary Ann Smith; grandchildren Ricky, Sabrina, Tabitha, Jennie, Brandi, Logan, Jordan and Memphis Belle; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by husband Harvey; parents Frank and Jenny Smith; and sisters Shelba Jean Poore, Julia Soles and Thelma Lambert.
A graveside memorial and interment for Martha and Harvey’s cremains will be announced. Bell Tower Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
