DEMOCRACY: A great test

Our democracy is being tested in a way that it has not been tested since the McCarthy era. The current drip-drip of suspicious behavior on the part of elements of the Trump administration will eventually get to the truth either because they can’t lie anymore or the special prosecutor uncovers the real truth.

Also, like in the McCarthy era, the public will eventually see the light and understand the damage that has been done. Many will have to fight their political and personal biases to do that, so it will take a long time.

I do not care if anyone goes to jail or is impeached although that should happen to those who deserve it. I do not care if one party or the other comes out of this as “winners,” although we know that there will be many such claims. I care that our democracy will emerge intact.
