Catherine (Kirk) Picard, 77

Catherine (Kirk) Picard, 77, beloved wife of James Picard, passed away July 15, 2017, at Kootenai Health of heart failure. Catherine was born April 16, 1940, in Providence, R.I., to George and Catherine Kirk.

Catherine attended Assumption School and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School. She began her working career at Providence Washington Insurance Co. She married James Picard on June 10, 1961. They raised seven children. They moved to California in 1971 and retired in 2002. James and Catherine moved to Hayden, Idaho, in 2002 because it reminded them of New England where they both grew up. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and belonged to two local knitting groups. She also loved to play Bingo. She will be dearly missed by friends and family.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 625 E. Haycraft Ave., Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, with a graveside service to follow at Riverview Cemetery, 1001 Lincoln Way, Coeur d’Alene.
