Backpack giveaway Sunday at local wireless stores

Students in Coeur d’Alene and Post Falls are about to benefit from a national backpack giveaway.

From 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, July 23, local families are invited to bring their children to local TCC stores to pick up a free backpack filled with pencils, paper, a pencil box, folders, glue and more.

Participating TCC stores, which sell Verizon products, are at 430 W. Hanley Ave. and 1700 Northwest Blvd. in Coeur d’Alene and 3760 E. Seltice Way in Post Falls.

The local stores are among nearly 1,000 TCC and Wireless Zone stores participating in Sunday’s effort when 172,000 backpacks will be given away nationwide.

Each TCC store is donating 220 backpacks, and backpacks are available on a first-come, first-served basis. One backpack per child and the child must be present.
