COEUR d'ALENE — Law enforcement agencies are searching for a 50-year-old man who was last heard from on Friday afternoon when he picked up his dogs from a friend in Coeur d'Alene.

Marty Lang has been living off Scotia Road southwest of Newport, Wash., this summer, but has lived in Kootenai County much of his life.

Friends and family have attempted to reach Lang by phone, but were unsuccessful.

"It is highly unusual for Lang to not stay in touch with friends and family and they are concerned about his well-being," a press release from the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office states.

Lang's last known location was in Coeur d'Alene around 3:40 p.m. Friday when he picked up his dogs.

A friend went to Lang's home after he didn't show up for work on Monday and discovered the two vehicles Lang owns and one of his dogs were there. However, Lang and his other dog, Sunni, were nowhere to be found.

Lang's son, Thomas Lang, said on social media on Wednesday someone believes they spotted Sunni on Sunday afternoon about a mile and a half north of the property, so search operations are being expanded in that area.

He said multiple agencies and three professional search dogs have been searching for his father.

"Not one track or trace of him," Thomas wrote late Tuesday night.

Thomas said he appreciates the support in the search.

"I'd like to thank everyone for all your thoughts and prayers," he wrote.

Those with information are urged to contact the Pend Oreille County Sheriff's Office at (800) 669-3407.
