Theresa Ann Knapkewicz Banister, 67
Theresa Ann Knapkewicz Banister left us July 7, 2017, while at her home in Post Falls, Idaho. She was born Dec. 26, 1949, to Vincent and Margaret Knapkewicz in Beach, N.D.
She grew up on the family farm with her brothers, Gerald and Bill, just outside Wibaux, Mont. She loved horses and reading, but most of all, she loved her family. After graduation, she married Byron Banister. Together, they built their lives, starting in Wibaux and ending in Post Falls.
Theresa was always the anchor for her children and her grandchildren. She was the voice on the other end of the phone, or the comfort at home, waiting with a meal. She was always kind, encouraging and supportive. She was mother to more than just her own children.
She is survived by her children, Myra Starr (Rod), Lori Meyer, Scott Banister and Carri Banister; her grandchildren, Ryan and Shelby Starr, Kayla, James and Brett Meyer; her brother, Bill (Leona) Knapkewicz and her aunt, Katherine Brophy. She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron; son Quentin; brother Gerald and son-in-law Jeff Meyer.
Services will take place at 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at St. Peter’s Church in Wibaux, Mont.
