“Get in the band van, man. Playing Coeur d’Alene for Live After 5 this Wednesday!”

That was the message posted Monday on Instagram by The Copper Children band as they headed east to the Lake City after performing at the Northwest String Summit in North Plains, Ore.

The Copper Children, a last-minute booking after a cancellation, will perform tonight in McEuen Park.

Tyler Davis, who produces the Live After 5 concert series, said the band is “by far one of the most talented of the season.”

“We feel very fortunate to have the opportunity fall in our laps to book this incredibly talented band,” Davis said. “To have the opportunity to hear them for only $5 is something that everyone should take advantage of as they won’t disappoint.”

The Live After 5 summer concert series offers live music, food and drink every Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. Held at McEuen Park’s Avista Pavilion, those $5 tickets are available at the entrance. Kids 12 and younger are free. Remember to leave your dogs at home. Pooches and outside food and beverages are not allowed.

Based in Denver, The Copper Children tour on the national scene. Its sound is described as a indie-Americana, intertwined with soul-folk, influenced as much by mountain music as classic rhythm and blues.
