Cabrera homers to lead Volcanoes over Indians

SPOKANE — Gustavo Cabrera hit a solo home run in the ninth inning, leading the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes to a 10-9 win over the Spokane Indians on Sunday in Northwest League baseball before 3,931 at Avista Stadium.

Salem-Keizer had erupted for four runs in the eighth inning, tying the game 9-9.

The Volcanoes’ Garrett Cave retired the side in order for his second save of the season.

Andretty Cordero had three RBIs, upping his total to 24 on the season, and Austin O’Banion doubled twice and singled, driving home two runs for the Indians.

Spokane (12-19) hosts Salem-Keizer (14-17) again tonight at 6;30.
