Sandpoint woman killed in collision with semi on U.S. 95

A 31-year old Sandpoint woman was killed in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 95 north of Hayden just after 3 a.m. Saturday.

Idaho State Police reported that Samantha Wolf was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe south in the northbound lane when she collided with a 2017 Freightliner semi truck traveling north at milepost 443 just north of Chilco. The semi was driven by Samarpal Khaira, 23, of Alberta, Canada. Khaira had a passenger, Purewal Sukhpreet, 31, of Alberta, who was in the sleeper cab.

Wolf was pronounced dead at the scene. Both occupants of the semi were transported to Kootenai Health.

Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. The investigation continues.
