Athol’s ‘The Crossings’ may be major place
A new building should be complete next spring at The Crossings on the east side of Highway 95 in Athol, and will employ about 100 people. Currently a Super 1 Foods and Ace Hardware are the only definite businesses coming to the site and the new construction will be Super 1’s 19th location with a deli, bakery, meat department and organic-natural foods section.
Many more businesses are projected for the 37-acre project. The area presently is under-served, but it has tremendous potential with Silverwood Theme Park, Farragut State Park, the town of Bayview and Lake Pend Oreille nearby.
Other businesses proposed on The Crossings printed plan include a hotel (90 to 120-room range), a travel plaza with gas and food and several pad sites with restaurants, a bank, auto retailer, dentist, medical-veterinarian place and offices.
