Grove within 2 heading into final round of Rosauers

SPOKANE — North Idaho College men’s and women’s golf coach Russell Grove is tied for second, two strokes off the pace, heading into today’s final round of the 30th Rosauers Open Invitational at Indian Canyon.

Grove shot a 5-under-par 66 for the second straight day Saturday to sit at 10-under 132, tied with amateur Jason Molner of Lewiston Country Club and David Phay of Whidbey Golf and Country Club.

Derek Berk of Sahalee Country Club in Sammamish, Wash., maintained his lead, following up a 63 with a 67 and is at 12-under 130.

A total of 86 players made the 36-hole cut.

Other locals making the cut: Reid Hatley of Hayden Lake (T42, 71-71—142, even par), Matthew Nosbaum of Circling Raven (T49, 69-74—143, 1 over), Brent Walsh of Coeur d’Alene Golf Club (T58, 71-73—144, 2 over), Austin Westphal of Avondale (T58, 69-75—144, 2 over), Billy Bomar of Prairie Falls (T73, 74-72—146, 4 over) and Jess Wingett of The Highlands (T81, 71-77—148, 6 over).
