Coeur d'Alene 9-10 all-stars advance to state

BASEBALL TOURNAMENTS

At Croffoot Park, Hayden

AGE 9-10

Coeur d’Alene 14, Hayden 6: Travis Usdrowski hit two doubles and drove in three runs as Coeur d’Alene won the best-of-3 series for the district title 2 games to 0 and advanced to the state playoffs July 28-30 at Croffoot Park. Cason Miller added a two-run double for the winners, Tyler Voorhees had an RBI double and Zach Bell had a run-scoring single.

For Hayden, Harrison Evans had a home run and an RBI single, and Kolbe Coey added a two-run double.

MAJORS

Lewiston 5, Hayden 4: Jordan Tinney hit a walk-off homer in the bottom of the sixth inning as Lewiston won the best-of-3 series for the district title 2 games to 0 and advanced to the state playoffs July 28-30 at Croffoot Park. Tiegen Knewbow and Carson Kolb also homered for the winners.

For Hayden, Cam Martindale hit a solo homer and Elliot Smart and Calvin Carroll each had RBI doubles.

AGE 10-11

Coeur d’Alene 15, Hayden 3: Cooper Smith hit a grand slam and Austin DeBoer also homered for Coeur d’Alene, which squared the best-of-3 series for the district title at one game apiece. Cooper Erickson added a double in the win.

Nate Weatherhead doubled for Hayden.

Game 3, to determine the district champion and for a berth at state, is scheduled for today at 10 a.m. at Croffoot Park.
