Irene Shinneman, 75
Our beloved mother Irene Shinneman passed away July 9, 2017, with her three daughters and granddaughter by her side.
Irene was born June 26, 1942, to Jack and Pauline Boesler in Glendale, Calif. She married Norman Shinneman and they were blessed with five children. After a summer-long trip through many states, they fell in love with Idaho and moved their family to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, in 1972.
Irene became a nurse in the early years of living in Idaho and was very compassionate with her patients, while also raising her children. She later went on to work for the Better Business Bureau in Spokane, Wash., and then became an independent insurance agent until her retirement.
Irene’s happiest times outside of being with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and family, was spending time on her boat. Funny though, she never learned how to drive her big twin engine boat. She was happy to spend her days just relaxing on her boat enjoying the beautiful evening sunsets.
She also loved spending time year-round at the cabin in Priest Lake. Since she always wanted to keep everyone in her sight, she learned to keep up with her children and grandchildren snowmobiling, four-wheeling and jet skiing.
Irene was a very devout Christian and spiritual lady. She cared for and was involved with her sorority sisters, as well as the many friends she was blessed with.
Irene is survived by her children, Pam Dresser (Kevin Agte), Cindy (Lloyd) Dresser and Kim Routh; sisters Char (Rick) Wilson and Nancy Andrews; brother Mike (Jill) Andrews; grandchildren Brandon, Devin, Savanna, Gage, Kayla, Josh and Jeremiah; four great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Pauline; her stepfather, Bill Andrews; her son, Randy and her daughter, Debbie.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Coeur d’Alene Chapel, 744 N. Fourth St., with public viewing starting at 2 p.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery, 1001 Lincoln Way, Coeur d’Alene, following the service. A celebration of life will be held following at Lloyd and Cindy Dresser’s home, 1368 Polo Green Ave., Post Falls, Idaho.
