Dorothy E. Tucker, 91

Dorothy Eilene Tucker, 91, passed away July 11, 2017, at the family home in Hayden, Idaho, where she had lived for more than 60 years. Dorothy was born on June 24, 1926, in Scottsbluff, Neb. With her family, she moved to Hayden Lake as a young teen and attended Hayden Lake School, which at the time included the first two years of high school.

She married Lovell Tucker in 1942 and together, after his return from serving in World War II, they operated Tucker’s Box Factory in Hayden Lake where she was bookkeeper until they retired in 1990.

She enjoyed being outdoors working in the yard and her gardens. Most of all, she enjoyed family times, fishing and camping. Dorothy was a member of Hayden Lake Eagles and liked country music, dancing and visiting with her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, five brothers, two sisters and one granddaughter. She is survived by her three children, Tom and Sherry Tucker of Sweet Home, Ore., Diane Reeves of Coeur d’Alene, and Rich and Bonnie Tucker of Hayden; four grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

A viewing will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Yates Funeral Home, Hayden Chapel, 373 E. Hayden Ave., Hayden, with a funeral service following at 10 a.m. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Coeur d’Alene Memorial Gardens after the funeral.
