Time to tout that turkey talent

| July 14, 2017 1:00 AM

COEUR d’ALENE — If you can sing, act, dance, juggle, tell a joke or otherwise wow an audience, Turkeys and More needs you.

Auditions for the Turkeys and More Showcase of Talent will be Tuesday at Lake City Center, 1916 Lakewood Drive, in Coeur d'Alene. People of all ages and talents are invited to participate.

Turkeys and More, a volunteer fundraising branch of the Coeur d'Alene Community Action Partnership Food Bank, is working to raise $32,000 to provide turkeys and all the holiday trimmings to 1,600 families in November.

The Talent Showcase will allow community members to have fun and sparkle in the spotlight while helping a worthy cause. Turkeys and More is also hoping to line up more people to be sponsors to help raise additional funds required to purchase the turkeys and holiday food. Sponsors should sign up soon to be included in advertising and they'll receive tickets to the show.

The Turkeys and more Showcase of Talent will take place in Sept. 29 at the Kroc Center. Those who wish to audition are asked to call show director Mike Bolan at 755-2184 to set a time and be sure to leave your contact information in a message if he is unable to answer. The community has enjoyed Bolan's music for years through his time in Coeur d'Alene's legendary Fabulous Shadows band.

For information, contact Turkeys and More coordinator Evalyn Adams at 765-5535 or email evalynera@hotmail.com.
