'Fairy Tale Murders' opens tonight
COEUR d’ALENE — An unknown killer lurks in the shadows of Fairytale Land.
Tourism has reached an all-time low following the mysterious deaths of Grumpy and Pinocchio.
Book sales have dropped, forcing many in the retail industry to request aid. The town's economy is so slow that the Stiltskin Corporation has filed for bankruptcy following the city council's decision to cancel the restoration of Snow White's castle.
In Coeur d'Alene Murder Mystery Theatre's "Fairy Tale Murders," the council is calling an emergency meeting, and you are an honorary member.
"This particular mystery, 'The Fairy Tale Murders,' has been a blast," said Tracey Vaughan, director and owner of Coeur d'Alene Murder Mystery Theatre. "I love that we take well-known characters out of their regular storylines and tweak their personalities a bit for comedic effect. The ironies in the script will be fun for audiences. Most people love a good parody."
Guests will watch scenes unfold while interacting with beloved fairy-tale characters such as Snow White, Red Riding Hood, the Evil Queen, Prince Charming and more. And those in attendance will be able to help find answers to the evening's most burning question — who is the Fairytale Land murderer?
"Through careful sleuthing, our guests can determine 'who dunnit,'" Vaughan said. "The top detective even wins a prize."
This murder mystery show opens at 7 this evening at Coeur d'Alene Cellars, 3890 N. Schreiber Way, and runs Fridays through July 28.
“This is our fourth year producing shows at the Coeur d'Alene Cellars Winery," Vaughan said. "What started as a small, fun side project has developed into a full season of mystery productions. I am so excited to continue our partnership with Kimber Gates and her team at the Cellars. It has been a wonderful venue for our company."
