Andrew ‘Andy’ Jackson Reese, 83

Andrew “Andy” Jackson Reese, 83, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, died July 6, 2017, at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene. He was born in Muskogee, Okla., on Aug. 21, 1933, to Sibyl and Andrew Reese.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Andrew Jackson Reese III. He is survived by his wife, Colleen Reese of Coeur d’Alene; and his only daughter and son-in-law, Christy and David Toms of Sammamish, Wash.

Andy had a lifetime love of cars, motorcycles and boats. He taught many a person to water ski, encouraging them to try “one more time.” He never met a garage sale he did not like resulting in the many “treasures” he collected over the years.

Never a good golfer, but you would never know it by looking at his 19 sets of golf clubs, 100 putters and six crates of golf balls.

So many times he would tell his wife “don’t judge them, just love them.”

Andy was truly one of the “greats,” open, patient and accepting of everyone and everything. His smile and radiant glow will long be remembered as will his kindness to all.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at St. George’s Catholic Church in Post Falls, Idaho. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Mass and lunch following Mass at St. George’s hall. English Funeral Chapel in Coeur d’Alene has been entrusted with the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory be made to Schneidmiller Hospice House — Hospice of North Idaho, 9493 N. Government Way, Hayden, ID 83835.
