Georgia A. Stewart-Osterman, 95
Georgia A. Stewart-Osterman, 95, passed away with her children by her side July 1, 2017, at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. An amazing bright light is gone from Earth, but our loss is heaven’s gain.
Georgia was born on Sept. 9, 1921, to Hazel and Lela Kreider in Walla Walla, Wash. She attended schools in College Place, Kirkland, and graduated from Redmond High School. Georgia worked for the phone company in Kirkland, Wash., and also Juanita School District. Her main job, which she excelled, was keeping her home and family cared for and first place in her life.
She enjoyed sewing for children and decorating her home. In later years, she took up painting and was a natural. Music was her favorite expression and she could sing and dance to most songs, lifting her spirits even in the tough times. She loved singing gospel songs to her Lord. Her loving spirit, energy and humor will be missed.
She met Grant G. Stewart, married on Oct. 13, 1941, and had two children. They resided on the east side of Seattle, Wash., prior to moving to Anchorage, Alaska. They returned to Kirkland, Juanita and settled in Fall City, Wash., until they retired to Wenatchee, Wash.
Grant passed away in 2006 and Georgia moved to Garden Plaza in Post Falls in 2008. She was one of the first moved in that November. She met William Osterman and married 2012. She remained at Garden Plaza after William passed away in 2015.
Her survivors include children: Georgia Franklin and Grant James Stewart (Jennifer); and grandchildren Matthew (Shannon), Robb (Cindy), Daniel, Katey and Kyle. Georgia leaves many great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Her surviving sibling is Donna Edwards and Georgia has 13 siblings and her son-in-law Larry Franklin preceding her in death.
A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017, at Garden Plaza in Post Falls.
