The newest neighborhood at the Dover Bay Waterfront Community on Lake Pend Oreille is proving to be a hot commodity — maybe even hotter than the recent scorching temperatures.

The West Beach Court neighborhood has generated high interest from buyers looking for homes with beautiful North Idaho vistas you can’t get anywhere else.

Home sites vary in size and location — some feature waterfront lake or inlet access while others boast stunning mountain and inlet views. Multiple properties have already sold in each of the four vista options in the neighborhood.

“West Beach has been very popular — if someone is interested, they need to move on it,” said Marie Garvey, director of sales and marketing for Dover Bay.

Of the 19 lots made available, just seven remain. Options are:

- Two estate waterfront view homes with approximately 100 feet of Lake Pend Oreille waterfront and almost an acre of total lot space. Mature old growth trees and southern exposures are highlights of these home sites, which start at $395,000. Buyers can build a 1,500-3,600-square foot home with accessory structure and private dock.

- One island view home along the wetland and nestled among cedar and pine trees. Build a 1,500-3,600-square-foot home with unique lake and waterway views. Home site priced at $189,000.

- Two inlet view home sites rest along Brown’s Inlet Bay with views of the inlet, Dover Bay’s walking bridges and Lake Pend Oreille. Canoe and kayak the inlet right from your property. Home sites starting at $189,000.

- Two mountain view home sites with prices starting at $119,900. Spectacular north views of the mountains surrounding Dover Bay, plus homes close to trails, parks and beaches. 1,500-3,600-square foot homes.

Buyers in West Beach Court can hire their own builders and are free to hold sites indefinitely until they’re ready to begin construction. Four homes are currently under construction in the neighborhood, and build times are estimated between four and six months.

Summertime is a perfect opportunity to check out the resort-like amenities and abundant outdoor activities at Dover Bay. The community’s marina is adding 130 boat slips this summer, with seasonal and overnight moorage available for both residents and visitors looking for fun and relaxation on Lake Pend Oreille.

Dover Bay’s Marina Village includes a fitness center, market, a year-round, outdoor heated swimming pool and spa, tennis and volleyball courts and a full-service restaurant, The DISH, open for lunch and dinner daily. The DISH recently received positive marks in “O, The Oprah Magazine.”

Visitors can also book a night or weekend at Dover Bay’s waterfront vacation rentals, including Parkside Bungalows and cabin in the woods-style homes. Parties, weddings and other events can also be booked at the property’s newly revitalized Homestead Barn. More information on moorage and vacation rentals, call (208) 263-5493.

Dover Bay is also hosting a “Block Party at the Barn” at 6 p.m. Friday at the Homestead Barn, featuring live music from the Devon Wade Band, BBQ and vendors, auction items, kids’ activities and drinks for all ages for purchase. The event is a benefit for Jared Kluesner, a 15-year-old Sandpoint native and Sandpoint High student who was diagnosed with leukemia. The concert is free, but donations are encouraged to raise money for Jared and his family for treatment and other costs. Food featured from Dickey’s BBQ and Edelhause meat wagon, with MickDuff’s Brewing Company heading the cash bar.

The Dover Bay Waterfront Community consists of 285 acres of forest, lakes and open meadows, with more than nine acres of beaches and park areas, as well as nine miles of walking and bicycle trails. Sandpoint’s restaurants and unique businesses and activities are located just three miles away, and year-round outdoor activities at Schweitzer Mountain Resort are just 12 miles away.
