Shadow women’s victories

have a Timberwolves touch

A trio of Lake City High girls soccer players past and present had a hand — or, more accurately, a foot — in the Spokane Shadow’s Women’s First Team’s 4-0 victory over the Washington Premier South Sound on Sunday in Northwest Premier League play Sunday at the Spokane Polo Grounds.

Havana Johnson, a recent Lake City grad and McNeese State signee, assisted on Spokane’s first goal in the 24th minute.

Bridget Rieken, a Washington State commit who will be a junior at Lake City this fall, capped the scoring with a penalty kick in the 63rd minute.

The Spokane women (7-1-0, 21 points, second place in the NWPL) In a doubleheader this afternoon, play host to the Yakima Hoppers on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Spokane Falls Community College as part of a tripleheader.

On Saturday, Johnson scored in the 81st minute of a 4-0 victory over Twin City at the Polo Grounds.

Portland State-bound Tiegan Horton, who played at Lake City and North Idaho College, earned the shutout in goal.
