Post Falls to get unique eatery
A unique dining experience is the specialty of Republic Kitchen+Taphouse that will celebrate its grand opening Friday and Saturday as part of the Post Falls Festival.
Located at 120 E. Fourth Ave. (across from the City Hall and Chamber of Commerce buildings), it was built in 1910 as the house of English immigrants Samuel and Ann Young and is the only Post Falls place on the National Register of Historic Places. The Youngs were farmers and innkeepers.
Now it is a place to share craft foods and beverages inside or on an oversized deck. The house has been restored to preserve its architectural and historic integrity.
Partners Mark Latham, Tom Latham and Adam Hegsted (executive chef and manager) offer lunch and dinner 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily with pub food, several beers and sangria on tap, wines, ciders and growler refills. Beers brewed in Post Falls will be offered special. Phone 457-3610. Check www.repub.pub (really — a new suffix).
Just Sports moves
in Silverlake Mall
The Just Sports store has moved across and just down the hall as one of several moves happening in Silverlake Mall.
Check www.justsports.com to check all the sports-related apparel and accessories offered here 10 a.m. to 8 pm. weekdays, 10 to 9 p.m. Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays. The 15-year-old store is managed by Tim Bashore. Phone 762-9172.
Next to the old location, Lost & Found Antiques & Treasures by Furniture Hunters will also be moving so the two neighboring locations can be part of the space for the incoming Encore Shoes store.
There’s more. Evidently a call center with 300 employees will move into the large space formerly occupied by Sports Authority. Of course, this would really help the mall food places that may result in more eateries, especially pizza, and new eating areas.
