Do you know Vietnamese restaurant Pho Thanh & Café? Have you ever tried Vietnamese food in your life? If you live in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, and have never tried Vietnamese food at Pho Thanh & Café it means you are missing something in your life when you are living here.
Sau Van Nguyen, the father of the only Vietnamese restaurant in town. Sau owned the restaurant for more than 10 years. The Pho Sau cooked, we can say nobody can make as good as him. A lot of people from different states come to Pho Thanh & Café restaurant to eat and they want to learn how to cook Pho from Sau. Sau taught everyone who wanted to cook and want to open a Pho restaurant.
When Sau was alive he and his wife worked extremely hard to raise nine children. Every day he went to the restaurant at 5 a.m. to make the food and worked until 9 p.m. Now, all nine of his children have grown up to be independent, hardworking and caring. With Sau’s children he is a hero of his family. With community Pho Thanh & Café made more diverse.
Sau Van Nguyen, the owner of Pho Thanh & Café, passed away on Jan. 23, 2017, at 12 a.m., and will be missed by many.

All visitors are welcome to his visitation that will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. today, Jan. 25, 2017, and from 10-11:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at English Funeral Chapel, 1133 N. Fourth St., Coeur d’Alene. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2017, at Riverview Cemetery, 1001 Lincoln Way, Coeur d’Alene.
