GYMNASTICS

Avant Coeur Gymnastics: Avant Coeur supported and sponsored North Idaho CASA at the Charity Choice Invitational in Seattle Feb. 17-19.

Charity Choice Invitational is a meet that isn’t just about the gymnastics, it is a meet that shows kids how to give back to the community and make a difference.

Each team that attends the meet chooses a nonprofit organization to sponsor and potentially win money to donate to. Throughout the weekend there are different things to earn points for — for example — wearing T-shirts, team placements for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, having a kid win the All-Around in their age division, winning an event, staying in the host hotels, and registering early.

As a staff Avant chose North Idaho CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates). KJ Torgerson, who is a parent of one of the Avant team kids, is the CEO of CASA. And as a business Avant sponsors a child in the program. Avant Coeur Gymnastics took 5th place as a club at the Charity Choice Invitational and earned $500 to donate to North Idaho CASA.
