CLOSING: But memories live on

| February 24, 2017 12:00 AM

The Sports Cellar is closing and with it, fond memories of my family well served and cared for.

While my son, Aaron, now lives in Oregon, he still had us buy a certain pair of socks that apparently couldn’t be found in any other store in the northern hemisphere.

My son, Jeff, nostalgically remembers buying, in late elementary school, the best pair of yellow and black Nike basketball shoes ever.

My boys felt excitement when it was time to buy baseballs, baseball gloves, bats, football cleats, basketballs, athletic wear and athletic gear of all kinds from the Sports Cellar.

This letter is just a small expression of gratitude and appreciation for the way my boys were treated by the Four Musketeers.

Ross and Kristy did a fantastic job of showing patience and perseverance when dealing with the male purchasing mind. Saint Nancy usually didn’t interact with my boys but sure made me well aware of my responsibility after their visits. And then there’s Greg. An old soul, a gentle soul, always kind and considerate, the quiet man, soft spoken, a listener, not wordy. Greg is a community treasure. Best wishes to all in the future.
