Joan Maryon, 82
Joan Maryon, 82, died Saturday, Feb. 4, 2017. She was born on Aug. 10, 1934, in Winnipeg, Canada. She moved to Coeur d’Alene from Southern California in 2007.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Rennie; her sons, Bob Maryon and Bill Maryon; her daughter, Linda Ann Maryon and her brother, Frank Rennie. There was no doubt that as she approached her final hour, she had a crew of angels welcoming her to the next world.
Joan is survived by her son, Don Maryon; daughters-in-law Tamara, Kim and Michelle Maryon; and grandchildren Zach, Tyler, Kate, Olivia, Bryan, Breanna, Taylor and Braden Maryon. In addition to all of these children and grandchildren, Joan had a litany of other “kids and grandchildren” who called her Mom or Grandma, friends who thought of her as a sister and neighbors and professionals who thought of her as a dear friend.
Joan will be remembered as a funny, caring and feisty woman with a pervasive laugh. Joan was known for her big heart. She defined unconditional love by embracing anyone who touched her life or the lives of her kids and grandchildren. She was the kind of mother who, when there were four people sitting at the table and only three pieces of pie, would say, “I don’t want a piece.”
A celebration of life will be held in her honor from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at the home of her son, Don Maryon, 3588 Loxton Loop, Coeur d’Alene.
Joan spent her final week under the care of staff at the Hospice House of North Idaho. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Hospice House. The nurses and nurse assistants at this facility are phenomenal and made Joan’s days leading to her final resting spot very comfortable and safe allowing her family to celebrate this wonderful woman.
English Funeral Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. Please visit Joan’s online memorial at www.englishfuneralchapel.com.
