Morris shot 9 for 12 from the field and scored a career-high 19 points, to go with 12 rebounds and five steals in a 49-30 win over Coeur d’Alene in the first game of the 5A Region 1 girls basketball tournament.

Coeur d’Alene Sting Timbers under-17 boys: The Sting Timbers started the Washington Cup off with a 7-0 win against the Spokane Breakers 00 Boys.

Keaton Murphree had two goals, assisted by Devin Sheehan and Docker Bond. Bond had two goals assisted by Spencer Messina and Dalton Curtis. Mac Stultz scored one goal, assisted by Docker Bond, Dakota Curtis scored one goal assisted by Caleb McLuskie, and Spencer Messina scored on a free kick. Shawn McKeeken and McCoy Patton teamed in goal for the shutout.
