Bass, banjo and bluegrass

| February 2, 2017 12:00 AM

POST FALLS — The Spokane bluegrass band BlueStreak will perform at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center at 8 p.m. Friday.

The veteran bluegrass crew features the vocals and guitar work of Doug Bond of Sandpoint. Bob Asbury plays banjo and Dave Hackwith plays the standup bass; both are veteran players from the long-enduring Northwest group, Custer's Grass Band.

Terry Ludiker, a familiar name in Northwest acoustic music, plays fiddle and mandolin. Steve Bauer completes the circle with his arsenal of crisp mandolin chops. Bauer began his playing career in the Fort Collins, Colo., area, which was a hotbed of bluegrass in the 1970s.

“It’s always a pleasure to play at the Jacklin Arts and Cultural Center," Asbury said. "We have played that venue for seven years running. We particularly enjoy playing in the up-close setting of this historic building. It’s a fun crowd with great appreciation for acoustic music.”

Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at the door or at www.thejacklincenter.org.

The JACC is located at 405 N. William St. in Post Falls.
